“Because the building had once been the home of the New York Times, I thought about the idea of time and how I could express the idea of time passing visually,” Milchan explains. “Light and tone changes throughout the day, so we did seven different versions of the same video, emulating the natural color shifts of daylight.” This blending of images results in a metamorphosis of rich shapes and tones that evolve from cool morning blues to dusk-like flamboyant reds. Set on a continuous loop played from a computer, the installation will be on display 365 days per year, 24 hours a day.

“I like to tell stories with my work,” Milchan says. “I use that innate vision of light and colors as the thread of a life story.”
