When the ePub revolution swept through the world of literature, something it could not replicate is the sheer collectability of the printed form. So, with numbered editions, and alternate covers, physical books come with their own innate scarcity. Whereas, the digital equivalents remained indistinguishable from one another, perfectly functional, however, inherently uncollectable.
Now, multi-chain NFT marketplace Curate, has partnered with forward thinking publisher, Caezi, the blockchain division of Arc Manor. Together, they formulated an audacious plan to harness the power of NFTs to rectify this senseless imbalance.
Through their ingenious plan, this union launched a series of limited-edition novels on July 18th, each numbered and provably unique collectors’ editions of seminal works by some of the greatest ever authors, and all with independent and randomized colour schemes adorning the cover.
The first author to receive such treatment sees Starship Troopers creator, Robert A. Heinlein arrive on the blockchain, with his rediscovered final work, ‘The Pursuit of the Pankera’ taking pride of place on the Curate platform. In essence, an exceptional mobile-optimized marketplace built on a carbon neutral grounding and featuring gasless transactions, which also recently launched a desktop experience for users.
