CLOCKWORK ORANGE

After the “Desert X Prix” model, the manufacturer is unveiling a new variation for the second season of the electric rally championship, Extreme E, and the event organized in Sardinia.

As those who enjoy demanding sports know, you don’t change a winning team. In watchmaking, the winning formula for Zenith is the Defy Extreme E “Island X Prix” watch. This chronograph is designed for all types of adventure and has all the necessary attributes to face any competition. Its 45mm diameter case, machined in carbon fiber and titanium, all in tones of gray, combines lightness and robustness. It thus effectively provides protection for the openworked dial on which the Super-LumiNova®-coated hour and minute hands, the chronograph counters, and the small second-hand display move. A power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock rounds out the time information.

This harmonious arrangement is enhanced by a touch of orange on the markers and on the 1/100th of a second measurement scale. This color accentuates the sporty personality of the timepiece by also embellishing the Velcro® wristband made from pieces of recycled Continental E-grip tires. As with all Defy Extreme watches, the timekeeping of this limited edition of 20 is powered by the iconic El Primero caliber with 50 hours of autonomy. A contemporary interpretation of the legendary 1969 mechanism, this self-winding movement has two escapements. One has a frequency of 5Hz for the hours and minutes, the other is dedicated to measuring time to 1/100th of a second and beats 10 times faster. Ready for action?
