Giants of Web3 Join Forces to Create the Open Metaverse Alliance

0

As the grand endeavor of an all encompassing metaverse continues to take shape, many forget that interoperability remains at its core. As such, for this fundamental idea to become a reality, the myriad of worlds currently under development must remain connected.

Essentially, users should have full control over their assets, that in turn must maintain a degree of transferability as they roam from one platform into the next. Clothing and avatars should seamlessly move from world to world, and weapons and power ups remain eternally functional.

For this reason, some of the biggest names in Web3 have pooled their resources to tackle the challenge head on. Therefore, big hitters, such as Voxels, The Sandbox, Decentraland, Dapper Labs and more have put their heads together to form the ‘Open Metaverse Alliance’ (OMA3). Joining forces, they aim to put in place a set of ‘best practices’ that enable interoperability, while providing true transparency and fostering an inclusive environment.

Through this beautiful collaboration, members throughout the Web3 community will enter into dialogue to improve the metaverse for everyone, putting into motion a set of core principles within the virtual environment and eventually ending up with a vast virtual playground that is far greater than the sum of its parts.
