Inaugural Sacred Rose Near Chicago August 26-28

It’s unclear whether any festival has made such a first-time splash as the inaugural Sacred Rose, set for August 26-28 with a pre-party August 25 on the outskirts of Chicago (Bridgeview IL). We will look at the daily schedules, but first read the organizers’ welcome:

We’re thrilled to introduce something new & incredibly special for Chicagoland named SACRED ROSE (@sacredrosefest), happening on the @seatgeekstadium campus the weekend of AUG 26-28.

SACRED ROSE is the first music lineup of its kind in the area that celebrates the culture of Americana, psychedelic indie, jambands, rock, soul, funk & bluegrass. Beyond the music, expect larger-than-life interactive art installations, quality Chicago-based food and beverages, and a moment in time to connect with the community that ties us all together.

Unlike any other festival, our plan for the inaugural year is to offer unprecedented schedule transparency from the start. As part of the fan journey, we’ll release the daily schedules and set times for every band BEFORE we go on sale. This way every #RoseBud will have the opportunity to curate their own experience and will know exactly what they’re signing up for.

The seed has been planted, and the roots run deep. Welcome to the family of the Sacred Rose.

Indeed.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 25

The pre-party, co-presented by Relix, is a 50th anniversary celebration of Europe ’72 in Thalia Hall, Chicago, featuring Eric Krasno, Ric Robertson, Ross James, Aron Magner, Alex Koford, Sierra Hull, and Ross Bogan. Jay Blakesburg will speak and have a photo presentation.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 26

You have three main stages to negotiate: The Vega, The Canopy, and The Dreamfield. Add to that The Laser Dome, and you have your work cut out for you, with so many incredible options plus bands you haven’t heard… yet! Do your homework! Margo Price is Artist at Large and will be appearing throughout the weekend!

Note: Black Pumas were scheduled this day, but the band have cancelled their entire tour. That open slot will obviously be resolved before next week.

At the tip of the iceberg: Phil Lesh & Friends, The War on Drugs, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Animal Collective, and Lettuce. Much more music from Punch Brothers, Yves Tumor, City and Colour, The Dip, White Denim, Sierra Hull, Danielle Ponder, Liz Cooper, Midnight North, Gone Gone Beyond, DJ Airwolf, Tad Cautious, and Freekbass solo grooves.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 27

This might be the most ridiculous day of a festival I’ve ever encountered!

Umphrey’s McGee, STS9, Goose, The Disco Biscuits, Cory Wong, Lotus, Moon Taxi, Sunsquabi featuring Kanika Moore, Andy Frasco & the U.N., AND lespecial. And you’re still not done! Syzygal, Luke Mitrani, Orchard Lounge, Uncle Jesse, Dead Inside, and Mark Zender, too!

SUNDAY, AUGUST 28

Just check the first four names here: Khruangbin, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Greensky Bluegrass, and Kamasi Washington. That’s insane. The Wood Brothers, Dawes, Hiatus Kaiyote, Circles Around the Sun, The Infamous Stringdusters featuring Molly Tuttle, Blu DeTiger, Kitchen Dwellers, Maggie Rose, Karina Rykman, Holly Bowling solo, Nicole Atkins, Uncle Jesse, Tad Cautious, Mitch Please, and Dead Inside provide infinite varieties here.

Plus, new favorite name: MITCH PLEASE!
