Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash Festival Set to Take Over Douglass Park in Chicago

The Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash Festival is an immersive art experience and the premier Hip Hop Music Festival in the Midwest, ready to roll into Chicago’s Douglass Park Friday, June 17 through Sunday, June 19. Founded by a pair of Chicago-based music powerhouses – concert promoter SPKRBX and next-gen media company Lyrical Lemonade – Summer Smash Festival has grown into one of the largest independent music festivals in the country after playing host to 90,000 attendees last summer.

Friday is highlighted by a performance by Grammy Award-winning rap pioneer Young Thug, who will be joined by fellow YSL Records labelmate Gunna for the Atlanta-based rap duo’s first-ever full-set collaborative performance. Saturday singer/songwriter Post Malone, one of the highest-selling music artists of the past quarter-century, will headline; he is working on the release of his next album later this year. MC Playboi Carti will help close out the three-day fest on Sunday night.

Many are first-time Summer Smash performers such as Wiz Khalifa, Polo G, Rico Nasty, Oliver Tree, 2 Chainz, and Ohgeesy, and this will be the plus the Chicago debut of rising rap star Yeat. Previous Summer Smash artists include Trippie Redd, Ski Mask The Slump God, Lil Tecca, and $not.

Summer Smash Festival Director and SPKRBX founder Berto Solorio noted:

“Today marks an exciting milestone for Summer Smash as we unveil our biggest music lineup to date. It’s been incredible to witness our fest grow into one of the largest annual music events in the country in only four short years. Our team is always striving to improve and elevate the festival experience, so we can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store this summer including bigger music acts performing on bigger stages, plus more food trucks, improved amenities, and more art installations than ever before. We’ve leveled up the entire experience.”

With 60+ artists, three days, and three stages, Summer Smash also features Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Lil Skies, Rico Nasty, G Herbo, Tyla Yaweh, Oliver Tree, Famous Dex, and dozens more rappers and hip hop artists of various genres. This festival is a must-attend for hip hop fans. Don’t miss the party of the summer! You’ll get access to a culinary village, premium bars, and immersive art experiences throughout the festival grounds. MusicFestNews will be covering press for the festival all three days, so find us on the grounds and come say hello!
