North Beach Music Festival Returns with HUGE 3-Day Lineup
North Beach Music Festival Returns with HUGE 3-Day Lineup
Last year’s inaugural North Beach Band Festival in Miami Beach was a spectacular success, so GMP Live has doubled down, expanding the fest to three days with a staggering lineup set to blow the lid off the Miami Beach Bandshell (yes, its name was recently changed from North Beach Bandshell, and yes, it looks like it could fly off!).
Three headliners and another baker’s dozen of musical gifts are on tap for NBMF2, scheduled for December 9-11. As currently configured, they will utilize the bandshell and a second stage on the property. Although it seems almost too small, the ticket sales cap kept last year’s event intimate and not too crowded — Bravo to GMP Live for that.
Friday, moe. will play two sets. Lotus take the premier slot Saturday, and Lettuce get the final word on Sunday. If that were all the music for the weekend, it would be enough.
But, of course, there are 13 more amazing bands and performers on the schedule, beginning with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Dopapod, Antibalas, Keller Williams, and the incredible Doom Flamingo. Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer is back for his second NBMF!
On the undercard, some great additions, starting with Melt, a soulful New York group; and Neighbor, new jam favorites.
South Florida represents three times. Lemon City Trio are an outstanding jazz fusion trio. Afrobeta are an amazing avant-dance duo from Miami.
And Guavatron might just be the best jamtronica, prog rock, trance-dance quartet you haven’t heard… yet.
Last, but absolutely not least, two amazing collectives. Trouble No More are a premier Allman Brothers tribute band featuring Brandon ‘Taz’ Niederauer, guitar, vocals; Daniel Donato, guitar, vocals; Dylan Niederauer, bass guitar; Jack Ryan, drums; Lamar Williams Jr., vocals; Nikki Glaspie, drums, vocals; Peter Levin, keyboards; and Roosevelt ‘The Dr.’ Collier, pedal steel guitar, lap steel guitar.
Shira Elias is back from the first NBMF. She has a set. Also back arethe three members of The Horn Section, who were everywhere last year. Also in the house (well, the bandshell), three more of their former Turkuaz bandmates. Cool Cool Cool are Broadhead, Brouwers, Carubba, Elias, Garett, Sanderson, and Schwartz, with a bass player to be named later!
Believe that this will sell out almost immediately. Grab those ducats ASAP! On sale to the public Friday.
