KELOWNA – Flowers are blooming and golf courses are full in the Okanagan, both signifying it’s spring in the Valley but there is one other major event which is the tell tale sign for the change of season: wine fest.

114 wineries and 70 wine events take place over the next seven days for the 19th Annual Okanagan Spring Wine Festival.

The fest kicked off Thursday night with the Best Varietal Wine Awards in Penticton and Friday night the signature, and probably most popular event, was the West Jet Wine Tasting; enticing savvy sippers to the Rotary Centre for the Arts with the chance to taste more than 180 wines all in one place.

Other events for the fest include wine picnics, chef showdowns and wine maker’s dinners for more information on Okanagan Spring Wine Festival events you can go to the Wine Festivals website: www.thewinefestivals.com
