Bourbon & Beyond Returns to Highland Festival Grounds in Louisville

Bourbon & Beyond is ready to rock Louisville Thursday through Sunday, September 15-18, at Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo Center. Once again the organizers have lined up an outrageous cornucopia of music, food, and, well, yes — bourbon!

The festival grounds will boast five stages. The two main stages — T-Mobile Oak Stage and Zelle Barrel Stage — are side by side, so a slight shift is all you need to tap into the great music there. The special Kentucky Venues Culinary Stage and Team Kentucky Bourbon Stage are likewise side by side, featuring all sorts of demonstrations and some music, and near those is the Bluegrass Situation Stage.

Be sure to check the schedules closely to make sure you get to see the artists and programs you want AND to make space for artists you haven’t hear and loved — YET! There are 20+ possibilities on the schedule each day!

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15

Bourbon & Beyond comes out roaring day one with headliners Jack White, Alanis Morissette, The Revivalists, and Father John Misty. Don’t sleep on Jimmy Vaughan of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Gary Brewer & the Kentucky Ramblers are atop the bluegrass list.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

You’re reading this right: Kings of Leon, Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real are all atop the day’s schedule. We would recommend you get there early enough to catch two monster guitarists: Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Eric Gales. Hogslop String Band awaits you at The Bluegrass Situation.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17

Day three features Pearl Jam, Greta Van Fleet, St. Vincent, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Drive-By Truckers, and Robert Randolph. However, it might not get any better than Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway. Write that down.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18

Big finish including Chris Stapleton, The Doobie Brothers, CAAMP, and Marcus King. Fabulous bluegrass from Sierra Hull and Jon Stickley Trio, too.

Check the map! You might oughta know where the food and bourbon stages are!
