Microsoft confirms supply issues are causing Xbox gamepad shortages

Microsoft says supply disruptions are causing a shortage of Xbox Wireless Controllers in multiple regions around the world.

As reported by VGC, some major retailers in countries including Australia, France, and the Netherlands are struggling to keep up with demand. Meanwhile, many stores in the UK including GAME, Smyths, and Argos having seemingly sold out completely.

When asked by about the apparent stock issues, Microsoft confirmed the problem stems from disrupted supply chains.

“We know it might be hard finding Xbox Wireless Controllers right now due to supply disruptions,” a Microsoft spokesperson told VGC. “We’re working as fast as possible with our manufacturing and retail partners to improve this. Please check with your local retailers for availability.”

VGC notes that Microsoft’s own Xbox Design Lab still looks to be accepting orders, and that the shortage seems to be less pronounced in the United States.
