Today we’re taking a look at an air purifier, fun sweats and a classic boot. This is Today in Gear.
A Classic Boot
Vasque first launched the Sundowner GTX ($250) back in 1984 and updated in 2015. This year is the 40th anniversary of this very classic style and a reminder that the functionality and performance of the Sundowner are timeless and ready for any modern adventure. The leather comes from a tannery in Red Wing, Minnesota, and is enhanced with GORE-TEX to keep your feet nice and dry.
A Beta Update
The iconic Arc’teryx Beta collection got a new update. Both the new Beta ($400) and Beta Lightweight Jacket ($500) are now made without PFAS, which is a major step forward in the brand’s sustainability efforts. The new membrane is made with GORE-TEX ePE, which offers the same excellent performance and still keeps you dry but reduces the environmental footprint of these two best-selling styles.
A Sleek New Hairdryer
Dyson’s wildly popular Supersonic has paved the way for the newly announced Supersonic r ($569) for professionals. If that’s you, you can sign up to be notified when it comes out. This is supposed to be the lightest, smallest and most powerful hairdryer Dyson’s ever made, and is billed to provide faster drying and smoother, frizz-free hair and a slick user experience.
Hot Pants
These are sweat pants that make a statement. You’ll be comfortable and cozy and everyone who sees you will likely miss the fact that you’re wearing sweats on account of their mesmerizing and aesthetically pleasing pattern. The Kioski Varret Pieni Unikko Sweatpants ($210) come in black and pink flower print and are made by marimekko. The organic cotton French Terry sweatpants offer up a straight, relaxed fit with an elastic waistband ands side pockets.
Cutting-Edge Purification
The new Coway Airmega 100 Air Purifier ($97) is a tiny, but mighty, purifier that’s made specifically for small spaces — and it’s offered at the brand’s lowest price point ever. The Airmega 100 has 360-degree air intake and a 3-stage HEPA filter that’s capable of purifying 810-square-feet every hour and weighs just six pounds. It’s perfect for small apartments and dorm room and even nurseries.
